Five Machines, One Venue: The Coda Wine Bar Install
There are moments in this business where you pull up to a venue and think: yes, this is exactly what these machines were made for. Coda Wine Bar in Chermside is one of those places.
We recently completed a five-unit installation there – and it's one of the most impressive setups we've put together in a single venue. Here's what went in, and why it matters.
What We Installed
1 × Unica Bubbles and 4 × Unica Roma 8s – five machines, 36 wines available to pour at any given time.
The Unica Romas are the backbone of any serious self-service program. Four 8-bottle units plus a 4-bottle Bubbles means Coda can run an extraordinary range – 36 wines, all temperature controlled, all precisely poured, all preserved for three weeks after opening. The economics of that are significant: wines that would have been written off as wastage after a day or two now earn full margin, glass by glass, for weeks.
But the real headline is the Bubbles.
Champagne by the glass
The Unica Bubbles is Enomatic's purpose-built sparkling wine dispenser. It's specifically engineered for the unique pressures of sparkling – the gas, the carbonation, the sensitivity to temperature – and it handles all of it beautifully.
Sparkling wine by the glass is one of the hardest things for a venue to execute well. Open a bottle of Champagne and the clock is ticking – you've got hours, not days, before it's no longer at its best. The Unica Bubbles changes that equation entirely. Coda can pour a single glass of Dom Peringnon at the start of service and return to the same bottle at the end of the night (and then again in a fortnight) with confidence that it's still exactly as it should be.
That means more sparkling varieties on offer, less write-off, and a special experience for the customer.
Why This Installation Works
A five-unit setup of this scale only really works when a venue has committed to making wine the centrepiece of the experience – not just an add-on to the drinks menu.
Coda has done exactly that. The machines are visible, the range is serious, and the self-service element gives customers the freedom to explore at their own pace. Come in, pick up an access card, and choose your own adventure through 36 wines.
That's a different kind of hospitality. Not table service, not a fixed list of four-wines-by-the-glass – an actual wine experience, in a neighbourhood venue.
Congratulations to the Team at Coda
It's incredibly exciting to see a venue back their wine program at this level. We're proud to be part of what they're building, and if the installation is anything to go by, Chermside is in for something good.
If you're in the area, we'd highly recommend paying them a visit – and taking your time with the machines.
